Group Coordination, Assistance & Travel Planner

Ujima means nobody gets left behind. Voting is powerful, but navigating schedules, transit, and childcare shouldn't stand in the way of making your voice heard. We have a shared group roster to help our community coordinate logistics, split the work, and get to the polls stress-free.

Here is how we organize our travel teams to make sure everyone can make it to a Pop Up at the Polls event:

  • Designate a Ride Leader: Every neighborhood or block selects a dedicated coordinator to manage the local signup list, keep track of who needs help, and serve as the main point of contact.
  • Match Polling Locations: While all registered Marion County voters can use any early voting site, we use the planner to cluster people heading to the same regional satellite location (like the Pike, Fort Ben, or Warren library branches).
  • Pick Your Pop-Up Day: Look at our master calendar and choose the day your block is going. We pool our trips so we arrive together during our designated "departure windows" when the music, snacks, and fun are in full swing!
  • The Pre-Trip Checklist: Before the car doors lock, your Ride Leader will remind everyone to bring a valid photo ID (or help you connect with VoteRiders if you need one) and make sure everyone has previewed their ballot using Vote411.org.
  • Celebrate Together: Collective work deserves a collective reward! Every group travel plan ends with a scheduled pit stop at a local diner, park, or restaurant right after voting to celebrate our community's civic power.
