Community Controlled Food Initiative (CCFI)
Our own monthly food cooperative, organized by neighbors in 2016, bringing fresh food directly from local farmers to our community.
A space for community members to educate ourselves and organize, through a grassroots non-hierarchical approach, to support and create solutions for a better food system. Meets every 2nd Saturday 2-3pm, and 4th Friday 5:30-7:30pm at Kheprw Institute. firstname.lastname@example.org
KI Community Garden
Garden plots to provide space for community to grow food. Also used for education and to supply KI food initiatives like CCFI.
A system for growing food and fish together. Built by youth interns and used as an educational platform, as well as to support KI’s food initiatives and provide economic opportunity.
Urban Ag Science Lab
An intergenerational learning lab that teaches hand-on eSTEAM skills (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) through the practice of urban agriculture, including soil science, composting, food production, cover cropping, aquaponics, and water testing.
